Mission District San Francisco
It always amazes me how much the Mission District in San Francisco has evolved since my first visit almost 12 years ago. Many cities fight to retain the raw grittiness of a neighborhood as an area becomes gentrified, but someone the Mission has retained the raw weirdness and yet still offer some of the best new bars and restaurants in SF. On a recent visit I got to experience the amazing flour + water which truly represents the concept of farm-to-table dining. The next night I had the chance to revisit a favorite, Blondie's for their lethal martini's (beware, cash only) followed by a visit to my favorite Mexican join, Panco Villa. I am so glad to see that the Mission has remained mostly the same and can't wait to go back and explore other old haunts.
